Chester Eugene Worman Jr.
1/7 was under the Operational Control and attached to the 3d Marine Division when they arrived in country in August of 1965 until
the 1st Marine Division HQ arrived in Chu Lai on 29 March 1966.

Chester Eugene Worman Jr. served as a - Lcpl - Grade E3 - US Marines - Regualar Enlisted Service.

He was 22 years old at the time of his death.

Chet was born on May 31, 1943 in Easton, Pennsylvania.

Chester served with 1st Squad, 1st Platoon, D Company, 1st Battalion,
7th Marines, 1st Marine Division.

Chester died on December 19, 1965 in Chu Lai, Quang Ngai Province,
Republic of South Vietnam.

His death was a result of a Booby trap explosion while walking with his unit
(1st Squad) on patrol Sunday morning, December 19th. Injured in that explosion that day were, James Conrad, Danny Gallegos, T.A. Soderquist, and Sgt. Russell Latona (2nd Squad Leader.) (As remembered by Sgt. Joe Garza, 1st Squad Leader.)

His body was recovered.

Chester is interred in the Northampton Memorial Shrine, in Easton, Pa.

Chester's religion was Protestant. He was married.

Chester name is listed on Panel 4E --- Line 29
of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C.
